005 - video
[Vanille's just resting between her Mamoswines tusks, as she records this video, nice and relaxed as the large creature sleeps.
She's totally safe. c: But she has thoughts. On her mind. And she just can't stop thinking...]
...How about we play a game, everybody! [A game. Right.] Let's say you had the power to bring anybody here. Anybody at all! And you two could stay here forever. Who would you pick, out of anybody from any world?
[A pause.]
Buuut... if you've gotten people you really want to be with you, I guess this isn't that fun. What if they didn't remember you? How would you deal with that?
[That's when the video ends... Vanille has reasons for this. She's just been pondering what might happen if she appears... she's got so many worries.]

[She's not answering that second question. Thanks for making her depressed, Vanille.]
[Vanille didn't know her mother - but she gives a smile, anyway.]
Well, why? Tell me about her - what made her wonderful?
[She claps her hands together - she's trying to use this to cheer people up. Making them think of their best memories of home...]

Is this about Fang?
[She doubts she really has to ask, given what she knows of their relationship--what she saw of it--but still...]

[ she sounds happy about it, then again, she sounds happy about a lot of things. it's just her default setting more or less.
on the inside though, more than anything, tsubasa wants koyomi here. if she could have her wish granted he would be here.. but she knows in the end, he'll never come. and she'll be all alone. it's sad, but it's just the truth and she's come to accept it. ]
How about you, miss?
( voice )
I miss my best friend - her name is Fang. We hadn't seen each other for a while, even before I came here. One of my friends got back somebody from our world... and I guess it's making me a little homesick.
( voice )
( voice ) whoops i turned this into a deep retrospective of vanille.
( voice ) vanille.. ;_;

But he's still curious about why these questions were asked (though he wouldn't outright ask her anything), and it was kind of interesting to consider. In an almost morbid sort of way.]
Might depend a bit on whether it was a case of them disappearing from this world and returning without memories or if they never knew me at all while here. In the first scenario there's recorded conversations, pictures, videos... things to validate what you'd tell them.
Otherwise, well. The bonds I share with my comrades is worth going to many lengths for. I'd do whatever I could to rebuild our relationship, but it would certainly be difficult to know they didn't share my memories.
[But, she pauses, shifting a bit on the creature she rests on. It could be some sort of illusion - but, her expression only slightly falters.]
I've heard people come from different times from home, as well - would it be different for you if they had, or not?

[Even if Atsuro trim down his list of people important to him, it's hard to pick one of them. Each of them are important and special to him in different ways.]
...As for your other question, well, I'll just deal with it as they come.
[He had experience with it, when his best friend returned to this world before. Twice and forgotten about this world each time.]
[pause.]
Have you had to deal with it before?

Damn, that's a good question. And just one? [Lancer leaned his head on one hand, taking a moment to seriously consider this.]
Given how this place always works, I'm gonna assume the dead are fair game, sooo....shit, it's kind of a toss-up between my kid and my best friend. Tough call.
[She'd ask which one was dead... or if they were both dead, but.]

The people who are here already don't count, do they? If not, then I would say Snow.
[ He's like this really cool guy you know. ]
video;
Nope, they don't count! Otherwise we'd have a bigger list, right?
[But, a pause.]
What if he did come from the past, though? Before you even met?
[vanille
vanille does not even know about the time travel bullshit
she is just asking because she knows of roleplay memory shit]

[Snide though it sounds, it's closer to a statement than anything overly pointed, at least.]
I already have the person I'd want - and she's not ever going to forget me. But if she did...
[If she did, it would likely be due to virus-related issues, and it's been so long already; is it poss- ...no, no, we're not going to think about that.]
...Well, I'd have to look out for her just the same, wouldn't I.

[But, she's smiling.]
I'm glad you've got that super special somebody with you, mister! Who might it be?

[Anonymous Text]
At last he responds to it, only giving two words to the anonymous text he sends to Vanille.]
My family.
[He hasn't even registered the second part, nor would he even want to even if he did.]
[non-anon text forever]
All of them?
I sort of wish I could have all of my family here, as well. But I have to stick by my own rules!
[anon text forever] Omg sorry that this is late.
huh]
...That's a rather personal question, isn't it? Yet I have to wonder... I'm sure in most cases the second question might be somewhat disquieting, but I have to wonder if it's always that bad.
[Vanille shakes her head, with a slight hmph. She won't forget. That's impossible. They'd been close from the very beginning.]
On the other hand - I guess sometimes, the person might hate you. And if they forgot that hatred, it might be good.

You're one of the few who hasn't just chosen, though. Do you have anybody here from your world?

[Carol doesn't realize how much she's missed her friend until the words leave her mouth.
She smiles sadly as she moves on to the second part of Vanille's question]
I guess technically that's already happened to me. I know Steve and Tony, but they have no idea who I am. It's hard sometimes, but I'm glad they're here either way.

[She still loves them both, they know it, and she'll see second love aka current boyfriend back home too, but it's still complicated.]
On one hand, I haven't seen the first since I was a tiny little kid and I'd give almost anything to see him again. [...] But I also love the second to bits and I'd do almost anything to see him here again too.
Though if I could pick someone from another world than mine, I'd bring back a girl named Menma.
